1.    In your opinion, what was the purpose of this blogging activity? (Why did I choose to do blogging instead of more traditional writing activities?)

Firstly, I would like to thank Ms. Rumford for this opportunity to write about what we enjoy writing about, which is the purpose of blogging, that way we would know what we are talking about. Also we can enjoy doing our schoolwork. Filling out worksheets may not be something to show your comprehension and appliance, but does not as accurately as blogging because in blogging you can see our appliance in our writing. Also, I often make mistakes while writing in class and have to correct them, wich then turns out messy – with blogs,  I can correct my mistakes right there and I can very easily edit something very quickly. Another advantage would be that, in class, a paper is written, and turned in, but with blogs, if something needs changing, that could be done and the previous copy could be replaced by the new, better version.

2.    What have you accomplished during your blogging?

During my blogging, I have accomplished and learned information, that I never knew before about my blog subject; cars. For example, I never would have discovered the new technology features about cars, such as the BMW park assist.  Also, I took advantage of the fact that we could insert multimedia to support or explain our writing. This also makes my blog more interesting, because it is a visual to the writing.

3.  What key concepts have you learned while blogging? (This can be about writing, research or technology etc.)

Research wasn’t a  key concept I have learned through blogging, but one I have improved, greatly on, because my information was on a certain topic, and was mostly facts over opinions, and facts need research. Also the website is easy to get around and easy to do certain things with it, for example, there was one time when I was working on a blog during SWAT, of course, there wasn’t enough time to complete it, so I used the save feature which allowed me to save my work, and open it again when I wanted to work on it.

4. Based on the skills you learned while blogging, how will this benefit you in the future? This maybe inside or outside of school.

The skills I have learned while blogging where, how to insert media into my text-this can help me not necessarily with blogging, but with other, perhaps similar activities like instructions, or emails to explain the text. It will also benefit me because I get feedback on my blog and I can see other blogs and writing styles which can help me make my writing techniques more interesting.

When deciding to buy a car, buyers don’t really see the bad in it, like getting in a car accident, searching for hours and hours when deciding to buy a car, buyers don’t really see the bad in it, like getting in a car accident, searching for hours and hours just to find a place to park – but then again, many people now need cars everyday just to find a place to park – but then again, many people now need cars everyday, so I am going to point out a few positives and negatives on cars, also some things to consider when buying your vehicle.

The first and most obvious negative point in a car is the fact that you could easily get in a dangerous car accident because of one small mistake, or the driver underestimating the performance of a car, like its turning, or slowing down, in fact, an estimated average of four people die every hour – regardless of the reason, whether it be the other drivers fault, or yours, drivers have got to be more careful, and with more and more aggressive drivers on the road that also need to be less aggressive.

You still get your moneys worth when buying a car, because unlike a bus or train, you can come and go according to any time that suits you, you can also style a car, drive by and stop at places, and choose your music. For example lets say you, and a friend are going to the mall, you could pick up your friend from their house and go to the mall. If your travel would be by bus though, you would have to get it, wait for it to go by your friends’ house, and go by all the stops, and also busses are much slower. And with all these factors involved, taking the bus would take almost twice as much time.

Safety may not be everyone’s favorite in a car, but everyone knows that it is the most important thing in a car and should be the first thing to look at when buying a car – you don’t have to buy the safest car on the market, but if you know that the car you are buying will not protect you in a car accident, you know in the back of your head that it is not the car you want to buy.

Karlz Benz invented the first gasoline-powered car in 1885,, it was made with a four stroke engine in Mannheim, Germany.
29 years later, in 1914 Henry Ford made his first production line, thus the beginning of the Ford manufacturing, and at later dates many more cars were introduced, up until about the 1940, cars were not very good, fast, and carried two passengers only, but the ones carrying four, were more expensive, they had big, thin tires, much like those of a bicycle, difficult to operate, and only owned by the wealthy.

Cars have developed from then, and are not only made to get you from point A to B, and for style, comfort, leisure, which is why today, we have many different types of cars made for different things. Something else that has developed greatly, which I personally find fascinating, is the technology and safety features like airbags – looking at the big picture this only a standard feature, but it saves many lives, and they have even developed this to make a pedestrian airbag, incase a pedestrian is run over, the hood is lifted slightly, and an airbag is let out from under it. There is a problem with drivers sleeping accidently, Volvo made a device, which will not allow this to happen – it does this by measuring your heartbeat, this may take some time to adjust to the driver, as people have different heart rates.

Also, many students learning how to drive find parallel parking hard, or even parking in general, sometimes the driver just wants to park it in his garage without having to drive in to a tight spot- BMW has also created The BMW park assist, using sensors, parking at the touch of a button.

This week’s blog will be the first of quite a few blogs, so I wouldn’t want to say just about everything there is to know about my subject; cars, I don’t even know everything they need to know, but I do know enough. So today will be more of a general blog on cars.

Some people absolutely adore cars, others just want anything to get them from point A to B and back. But for those who are passionate about which cars they want to buy, they obviously would have great use for them in life, and I am going to state the categories in the following paragraphs:

SUV’s

First off SUV stands for Sport Utility Vehicle and it is used a lot in this part of the world, and is great for offroading and carriying many passengers, like taking your children to school.

Trucks
Trucks are also widely common in this part of the world, but not exactly used for the same reason; here, people like the strength of a truck (this applies to American trucks), whereas, in other part of the world, they are put to great use, carrying various items. Still though, trucks are excellent off roaders,  and they are quite light, which is good when it comes to offroading. I wouldn’t recommend most trucks for commuting, because they are not that comfortable. They also do not carry many passengers

Compact

Compact cars may not be the most luxurious cars, they may not be the cars with the best performance, but they are excellent for commuting, and they are the most energy sufficient, and they are said to be very easy to drive.

Exotic

I personally am not very keen on these, because I do not see much use for them, they are fast, and comfortable which is good, and excellent for commuting, and something long lasting.
